How to maximize your productivity!
I'd like to begin by stating, I used to be super lazy and could sit on the couch for hours watching TV. I still have some days where that is the case, however, most of the time now I feel guilty for not doing anything productive.
One of the key components that truly changed my productivity was my environment! Properly cleaning after yourself and setting up a nice warm and comfortable workstation is imperative in changing your productivity for the better. I can't stress how important your environment is for your productivity. It's as simple as wiping down your work area every week, cleaning your room every week, and cleaning the bathroom every week. It will improve your productivity and mood!
Another simple and easy way to increase your productivity is to NOT SLEEP IN! I used to sleep till noon almost every day during the summer when I was out of school, however, this made me even more tired than if I were to get up earlier. If you can, try to sleep earlier to get those 7-8 hours of sleep. Waking up earlier also gives you more hours of daylight to receive your daily dose of vitamin D.
Now moving on to the more complicated parts of productivity is knowing what you're working towards. Having a goal set in mind is important for productivity since without it you most likely would be lost. Writing a goal down on a whiteboard when you wake up or reading your goal on a piece of paper on the fridge before you make breakfast every morning will increase your motivation and drive toward that goal. Repetitiveness is KEY. It sounds like manifestation, and it almost is, but it is super effective given time. If you think of yourself in some way and believe that you are that person, eventually you will become that person given you act the way that person would act. It is simply copying examples of success to create your success.
For example, if I wanted to be a successful businessman, I would start thinking as one, going to conferences, networking, researching, and asking questions a successful businessman would ask. Over time I would increase my network while learning about all the business tips from all the other successful businessmen. What comes with this however is a very busy schedule, which is a GOOD thing! Keeping busy keeps you learning and improving your skills. However, this is also where you need to improve your time management skills and prioritize tasks smartly. You could use a calendar on your phone or a physical one, but I recommend using a schedule organizer app! There have been a lot of new applications that can help you time a lot easier without having to spend hours just on your calendar.
Lastly, a good habit to take up is exercise. It could be just a 15-minute walk every morning or as intense as an hour-long workout at your local gym. Whatever suits your boat, but getting those steps in and receiving sunlight is very beneficial to your productivity. Being healthy in general can improve your mood and in turn your productivity as well.
Transforming your productivity is a great undertaking that involves both simple adjustments and more complex strategies. From optimizing your environment and managing your sleep schedule to setting clear goals and staying busy with purpose, each step contributes to a more productive and fulfilling life!
